Hi I have a 1990 Audi V8 with 87000 miles on it. I was driving my car yesterday and it was running perfect like it always does. The temp was fine and the oil pressure was fine. I got home and noticed that my car was smoking!! I lifted the hood to check things out and noticed that it wasnt the radiator. Then I looked under the car and notice that the car was leaking oil onto the pipe that connects to the two headers. I have no idea why the car is leaking oil or were it is coming from. I checked the oil filter and its not leaking from there. Could somebody please tell me whats wrong, or if you have experienced the same problems. HELP!!

Hi there,
maby you should take a look at your Power-steering. Chekc if the Oil level is lowerring.
Or just tke a look at the Oil. If is slightly green than it is oil from the steering. If it is red than it should be the ATF OIL.

The oil pressure sensor switches are known to fail. They leak even though they still function. A parts CD will show you where it is located.

There's an Oil Breather Hose that connects the 2 valve covers. Mine cracked and spewed oil (but it wasn't in the quantity you are talking about.) You might want to take the engine cover off (7 screws) and see what you can see. My hose was a $50 dealer only part, so I used to hose clamps and a 1/2" coper pipe fitting to fix it. :-)

Good luck!

Regards,

- Jeremy

It is possible that the crankcase ventilation hoses are the problem....I have a repair note from the prevous owner with this problem ..new hoses...high pressuse cleaning...
