Hello all you fellow maniacs, just bought a 91 4.2 here in Hungary. (Lago Blue repaint with cream colored interior) Plan on taking it back to the states with me. I have BMW's back home and so far, I think I may be converted. I haven't pushed it yet because I want to do all the servicing I feel it has been denied (timing belt is a major must). I wish this site had a gallery, I have looked and looked and am unable to find pics of another V8 with my style interior, front seats are a sport package, it seems.Anyways, I appreciate all the tech, hoping to find a few performance tips, 17' wheel suggestions, etc....

This forum's providing a lot of technical knowledge. Unfortunately we have a lack of international users and only a few of skilled German users are speaking English. without having seen detailed photos this seems to be the so-called "Ecrue"-interior, which was not commonly offered during the manufacture time of the V8. But if a customer had the wish for a really white leather and was willed to spend the extra amount of money Audi offered this interior on the V8 as well. I may have seen three others having that interior and can post some pics another time.

Still, a great and seldom color, especially with that kind of seats!

Thanks for the information and welcome. I am not really collecting but, I did have plans on bringing back a couple. This car caught my eye on a lot in Budapest. The price was so low it really scared me from buying it right away, so, I was looking at A6's and A8's. It all kept bringing me back to this car. There are some nice pics out there but they just do not do these cars justice. They are so much better looking in person. I had hoped to be of some real value on this site (as well as Audi World) because my job sends me back and forth several times a year. Well, that has now stopped and I may only get to go back a couple times a year...I would have been able to mule parts almost regularly. Anyways, I can't wait to look through the data base, I just hope I don't stay up until 5am again doing it!! thanks again

a pretty good decision choosing the V8 Quattro! A very special car and in well condition it will show an appreciation within the next few years. These cars are dwindling. As you recognized most of them are cheap to get and many of them are in woeful state.
Keep an eye on it and you will not regret!

Wellcome! Nice colour combination you have there. A very good idea to bring one of these home, if you like a special car that is. As Tim already indicated, not many produced, and few left nowadays, especially in acceptable condition.
The fact most pictures don't do it justice is due to its discreet design. Meeting one for real shows you it is quite an imposing, and, at least to our opinion, goodlooking car.
