Hi all!
Bought an old 100 2.3 sometime ago really cheap just to have a comfortable cruiser on the motorway.. couple of years later after running it with absolutely no problems I turned into loving the model/make/year... so decided I wanted to keep it. However, the 2.3 is not the "right" model to keep - so went looking...
Found this '93 november V8 4.2 Quattro @ 217.000km equipped with almost everything: Heated locks, Sunroof, Automatic, Sunblinds, memmory seats etc.. so went on and bought it this friday, changing in my old 100.
Spending the weekend cleaning it and doing a little repair I found myself back on the motorway enjoying the comfort...and now the "umpf" too

Currently I will be driving it daily the next two years, and after that I want to put it in my workshop and dissassemble it completely for restauration.
That requires some fixing right now:
- Timing belt replacement with all tensioners
- New brakeshoes in front
- New front tires (18", 225/35)
- Cruise control fixing
- Complete fluids change (Gearbox shifts harshly in in 1-2 downwards/Engine/Coolant/Brake/Aircon)
- Filters replacement (Air/Cabin/Oil/Fuel)
- Sparkplugs.
Anything else anyone thing should be done before a two-year daily-use cycle begins?
Will update on here with experiences, lessons learned and definetely ask for advice from time to time, when the need occurs.
First off: Anyone has a service manual/repair manual for this model? (V8 4.2 Quattro automatic 1993/11).
Strangely(to me) it shows km/h but the onboard computer shows mpg - does this indicate a switch of some sort?
Glad to find the forum - and other lovers of this fabulous car!
Regards
Brian Weber
