I have access to some spares, including a heated rear seats set up.
Has anyone any knowledge of retrofitting these? Obviously seat back and base are required. Rear switch panel. Presumably it's an option loom, but where does it route? what else would need to be salvaged? Is the standard wiring ready to accept this, or is it a LOT of work?

If I understand you correct, you want to replase the original heat panels to the new age carbid panels?
your problem only will be, that the new one surely need other regulators... because the voltage... at least series restors, i think the new ones need less voltage for the same heat... with the old regulators you will get your ass burn at first level and at the highest level the seat burns..... you know what I mean?

Hi,
I think he only want's to know how much wiring effort it is to equip a V8 with an original rear seat heating if there wasn't one before.

if you think right:
It's no problem if you catch a "facelift" (means after 1990) rear seat heating wire harness, it will fit nearly plug'n'play... if nowhere findabel a facelift heating so it's big work to put the "old" (1988-1990) wire harness in the car...

Cool. The donor is a 92/93 with heated rears, and the recipient would be a 1991.
I was tempted to try to retrofit into my earlier silver car, but there were a lot of changes in the later cars, c1991onwards.
cheers
