Hi , i have a problem i have broken automatic gearbox in my audi v8 4,2 92. I find one , but it is from 3,6 . Do you know if gearbox from 3,6 engine is compatibile wih 4,2 engine ?

If you have an ABH Engine you need an AZG Gearbox .

AYU , AKD and ATU are only for PT (3.6)....

Also you should be change theTorqueChanger

My problem is that in all gears car cant move. I tried all 1,2,3,D,R ,P. I feel that car change a gear but it wont move whent its hot . When its cold i can move slowly . Next problem is that P (parking ) is broken too , in P gear is car still moving ...

Well, according to our friends across the Atlantic, it IS possible to swap gearboxes. There was a thread about that on the Audi mailing list recently (read Ron's posts in this thread). I`d still stand by my statement that this is something best left to rather proficient and experienced DIY mechanics, though...

Whereas it's comparable senseful to put a 4,2 gearbox onto a 3,6 engine it's ridicolous the other way around as the transmission won't stand the torque of the bigger engine for long.
