Hello,
the windows in my '92 V8 4,2 are fogging badly, when the weather is cold and humid. Even when the temperature is above 5C, and the compressor is running, I can just barely keep the windscreen and the rear window fog free using MAX fan speed, defrost setting and rear window defroster. All side windows are covered in fog. The recirculation flap works fine, and there is no coolant leaking from the heater core. Does anyone have a solution for this problem?

Thanks
Jesper

Hello

I had the problem with my V8 89 3.6 PT some years ago.
Perhaps your airco intercooler is completly insane and full of dust.
So the humidity stays here and when the blower turn it drive the fog on your cold glasses.
You might look at this.

Regards ,

Also you can show afer an Spring there . The You have in In the Airco Box on the right side on inside who (it works versus an UNderpressureBox) close the In-Air Door (klappe in german language) . If these Spring is not there you become no fresh Air in the Car and your Windows are fogging...

its the most problem .... Spring costs round7 Eurs...

Hi Jesper,

did you check the recirculation flap seriously? A broken spring at the recirc flap is a well known fault at this car (just like the "pope" said below).

Otherwise there must be a lot of humididty inside the car (may be in the carpet).

Has you car got a sliding roof?

Hi Tim,
yes, i did check the recirc flap spring, and it is ok. I have replaced these springs on my former 200TQ, and in my girlfriend's current 200TQ Avant. Both times, the foggy windows problem was solved. I do have an electric sliding roof, but I can't find any signs of water leaking into the cabin anywhere.

Hi Jesper,
it seems to be a miracle! Can´t you find any wet areas on your carpet? May be, it´s helpfully to lift them all up.

I think, there must be humidity in the cabin.

May be, the water drain passages of the sliding roof are choked or there is a leak in cause of rust at your windshield (rust between the windshield seal and the body).

As the recirc flap is working proberbly an the heater circular hasn´t any leaks, ther must be water draining somewhere into the cabin.

Beste Grüße
Tim
