Hi Emmerich,

did´ nt you exchange your rear calipers yet?

The need of exchanging the brake fluid depends a little bit on your local humidity. I think, the exchanging interval might be extended in New Mexico and Texas and should be shortened in the Amazonian Rain Forest ;) . 2 years seems to be a halfway house. But in deed, it´s no mistake to exchange the brake fluid every two years.

Exchanging brake fluid is simple, as the brake circuit was not opened. You need a second Person to operate the brake pedal and the engine should be idling within the bleeding procedure.

1. Drain the container upon the master cylinder and refill it with new brake fluid.

2. Jack up your car (safely!) for bleeding all calipers. Disassembling the wheels is not necessary but helpfully.

3.Start bleeding (one after another) in the following order: Rear rh, then lh, then front rh and lh.

Put a transparent hose on each bleeder. Open the bleeder and advice your assistant to slam on the brake and keep the brake pedal applied! Then close the bleeder and get the brake pedal released.
Repeat this procedure on each caliper until fresh and bubble free brake fluid appears in the hose.

Check and add the fluid level in the reservoir on the master cylinder constantly!

For a complete bleeding you need about 2 liters of new brake fluid.

So long

Thanks Tim.
I did not change rear calipers, just the pads,
that was the time I asked how to push-rotate
the pistons so the new pads would fit.
We have Thanksgiving, so a 4 day weekend
and yes I will do the brake fluid exchange,
also the 2 front brake hoses will be exchanged
to stainless ones, just for safety.
Car gets a new steering dampener also.
Thanks again, E.
