My damp garage has put a serious hurting on my 1990 V8 Quattro. Went into the garage running great and has come out needing a million little fixes. One of the biggest is that I now have a rust pin hole in the gas tank and it is leaking right onto the exhaust. No easy fixes there. My question before I go and drop the whole exhaust, suspension, and rear end is wether there is a possibility of swapping a tank from an Audi 100 or 200 or is the gas tank specific to the V8 Quattro. As V8 parts are hard to come by in my neck of the woods, the option of other Audi tanks would help this endeavor greatly. Regardless I will have to dive in if I plan on driving the poor beast any time soon, so any help would be greatly appreciated.

Grrr,
JON

the fuel tank from a 5000/100/200 Quattro should fit - I don`t know this for sure though, so *proceed with caution*.
part no. for the V8 fuel tank is 4A0201075B; part no. for the Type44 fuel tank is 4A0201075L. They both cost the same (EUR 570) over here, so no V8 'premium'.

The best Audi used parts dealer in the whole country should be right around the corner if you happen to live in the Catskills area - Check out their website
